  • Light ale (500 ml bottle, chilled)
  • Apple juice (250 ml, natural)
  • Honey (2 tbsp, liquid)
  • Orange (1 pc, sliced into rounds)
  • Cinnamon (1 stick)
  • Cloves (3 buds)
  • Ginger (1 cm fresh root, grated)

Step-by-Step Preparation

  • In a saucepan over low heat, warm the apple juice, add the sliced orange, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Bring to a light simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to the lowest setting, add honey, and mix well.
  • Pour in the light ale, stirring gently. Do not bring to a boil to preserve the alcohol and aroma.
  • Simmer for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Let it sit for 5 minutes, then strain through a sieve.
  • Pour into mugs and serve hot.
