How to Become an Author and Publish Content on DrinksCraft-S

Drinks Craft — a community of people passionate about beverages. To make participation convenient and useful for everyone, we distinguish categories of authors, share recommendations for publications, and explain the principles of interaction within the community.

For this purpose, we classify the type of author accounts in our community by level of expertise, purpose of publication, and type of entity (person / business / media). Therefore, we have identified three types of authorship for users in the “Author” group:

  • Enthusiast / Hobbyist
  • Pro / Expert
  • Brand / Company

┊ 1. Enthusiast / Hobbyist

Enthusiasts and hobbyists are our main audience. Enthusiasts are people who enjoy experimenting with beverages at home, sharing family recipes, secrets, or life hacks. Their publications make the community friendly and inspiring, showing that anyone can create tasty and interesting drinks.

Enthusiasts share their experience and personal discoveries without the need to confirm their knowledge with certificates or licenses.

What they publish:

  • Videos or photos of experiments

  • Social networks (optional)

Profile avatars of enthusiasts are marked with the “User” sticker so that users can immediately understand the level of content.

Recommendations for enthusiasts and hobbyists:
  • Write only about beverages and related technologies.
  • Do not publish advertising or commercial materials.
  • Respect others’ work: do not copy recipes without permission.
  • Share your experience honestly and in detail so others can repeat your experiments.

┊ 2. Pro / Expert

Professional authors and experts are an important part of our community. Professionals bring expert opinions and verified knowledge. These include bartenders, sommeliers, technologists, mixologists, thematic journalists, educational organizations, and bartender training schools.

Their materials help people study beverages more deeply, master professional techniques, and trust the information provided.

┊ Moderation and authorship verification

All applications for author status go through moderation. This is necessary to maintain content quality and transparency of information within the community. For the “Enthusiast / Hobbyist” category, moderation mainly concerns checking published materials for relevance to the topic and compliance with the rules. For the “Pro / Expert” and “Brand / Company” categories, moderation may include verifying the information in the profile, the accuracy of the claimed expertise or professional activity, as well as the existence of the company and whether the description corresponds to reality. This practice helps maintain trust in both the authors and the published content.

┊ “PS DRINKS CRAFT-S” section and community additions to the author's publication

Attention! Each publication page includes a special tab “PS DRINKS CRAFT-S” that allows the community to supplement the author’s material with useful clarifications, facts, and practical advice. We ask authors to treat this with understanding — our goal is to раскрыть any topic as fully as possible. The “PS DRINKS CRAFT-S” tab is available only for publications by authors in the categories “Enthusiast / Hobbyist” and “Pro / Expert”. This section is not used on publication pages in the “Brand / Company” category.

The main text of the article remains unchanged and belongs to the author. The DrinksCraft-S community does not edit materials without the author’s consent.

Using the “Clarify / Add” button, community members can:

  • Point out inaccuracies or typos;
  • Add a link to a YouTube video related to the article topic;
  • Attach a photo that clarifies or complements the topic;
  • Add useful clarifications or additional information;
  • Share their own observations, tips, and life hacks;
  • Tell interesting facts or details from the history of beverages.

All suggestions go through moderation for relevance, correctness, and accuracy. After approval, the information is published in the separate “PS DRINKS CRAFT-S” tab, and the author of the publication receives an email notification.

The full list of additions to the author’s publications is available in the personal account, in the author section on the page “Responses to publications”. If the author disagrees with any addition, they can contact the site administration, specifying the reasons, as well as the specific addition and the publication it refers to.

By submitting an application for author status in the categories “Enthusiast / Hobbyist” or “Pro / Expert”, the author agrees to the use of this function on the pages of their publications.

┊ Photo and video gallery for publications

Each author publication must be illustrated with at least one image. A video related to the topic from YouTube can also be added to the gallery. If the article contains only text, the administration may add an illustration — either by generating an image with AI based on the publication text or by adding a suitable thematic photo.

Using the “Clarify / Add” button, community members can add links to YouTube videos or their own photos if this content matches the topic of the publication. All such additions go through moderation and are marked with the icon:
This function is available only for publications in the categories “Enthusiast / Hobbyist” and “Pro / Expert”. On publication pages in the “Brand / Company” category, the option to add photos and videos by the community is not provided.
